Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Generation Training and Field Support

This Toolkit is intended to help USAID mission staff and national decision makers understand and assess the relevance of policies and programs that have been used successfully in support of large, grid-connected renewable energy development. The toolkit highlights key issues that must be addressed in the design of a renewable energy framework, and seeks to explain key concepts.

Fuel-Efficient Stove Programs in Humanitarian Settings

The purpose of this Toolkit is to help humanitarian organizations determine if a Fuel-Efficient Stove program is feasible and appropriate for a given setting, and if so, how to design and implement an effective program for wood-burning stoves.  This Toolkit is designed to take implementer organizations through a step-by-step process of assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of a proposed activity. It contains twelve steps.

Increasing Energy Access Through Enterprise

The purpose of this toolkit is to present information and tools that help small and growing energy service enterprises flourish.  This Wikispace is meant to serve two purposes: (1) as a "filing cabinet" of data and resources to be studied, collaboratively debated and continuously updated; and (2) as a toolkit -- presentations and spreadsheets, guidebooks and learning manuals, case studies of what works and what has failed, reference documents and videos. The audience is a diverse group of development practitioners, government officials and energy entrepreneurs.

USAID Empowering Development brochures

This series of brochures highlights the role that energy can play as a critical input in meeting the development challenges in the agriculture, education, health, SMEs, water, economic growth, natural resources and the environment, and other development sectors. The brochures include an overview of the issue, a demonstration of the links between energy services, economic development and poverty reduction, and numerous case studies. The primary audiences are decision makers and development activity implementers in the agriculture, water, education, communication, enterprise, rural infrastructure, etc., sectors where clean, reliable energy is a critical input in enhancing economic and social development.
